Carolyn Tillman photoCarolyn Tillman is a Special Assistant to Herb Fischer, Superintendent of San Bernardino County Schools, representing the County Superintendent in both public and private forums. Carolyn serves as the Regional Coordinator for the California Department of Education’s Safe Schools Program and a Manager to the Foster Youth Services initiative. Other assignments include, the LEA Medi-Cal Technical Assistance Project, the Healthy Start Program and the San Bernardino Countywide Gangs and Drugs Taskforce. Prior to her work at SBCSS, Carolyn was employed with Loma Linda University Medical Center, The March of Dimes and the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health. Carolyn earned a degree in Speech Pathology/Audiology from Loma Linda University, La Sierra.

Carolyn is a resident of San Bernardino and enjoys a life of community service. Various state and local agencies have awarded and recognized her for her contributions. She currently serves as a Trustee to the San Bernardino City Library Board and serves on the San Bernardino Community Scholarship Association Board and the San Bernardino Police Activities League. Carolyn participated and completed training in the San Bernardino City Leadership Program and has served as a board member of the American Cancer Society, San Bernardino Chapter. Carolyn is a recipient of the San Bernardino Chapter League of Women Voter’s, Citizens of Achievement Recognition. She is a lifetime member and past president of NCNW, Inland Empire Section, a member of the San Bernardino County Women’s Network and a former Director of its Mentoring Program. Carolyn is a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in San Bernardino and participates as a Sunday School teacher and the co-chair of the Scholarship Ministry. She is the mother of three children; Steven Williams, Eva and Denise Tillman.
