Do you know what that book you checked out from the Library went through to get to the shelf?

It starts with each book looked up in the library's computer system.

Then it is assigned to a branch or branches.

Next the book is given a call number - for fiction it is the author's name, and for nonfiction it is a unique dewey decimal number.

Then the book is barcoded to track the book at the library or when it goes home with you.

The next step is to stamp the book with the name of the library to which it has been assigned - Feldheym, Rowe, Inghram or Villasenor.

Then a spine label is attached.

Now a library logo is applied to the book.

Hardbacked books are covered in a mylar jacket to protect the dust jacket of the book.

Finally the finished product, with any reserve slips for patrons, is placed on specially assigned shelves for the Library Services Technican to deliver to each branch daily.
